Cords Of Deprivation.

Spam and Heinz never fail to captivate my taste buds. It seems like they made a secret pact at each other to transform a plain evening into a dinner meal I can’t forget. It’s a damn cold night. Woo, Avril Lavigne’s singing in my player. Perfect. Won’t you take me by the hand.

Hold on if you feel like letting go. Good Charlotte rocks with their first single: Hold on.

The dusty guitar, the mirror with cracks of anger from my fists, the dim lampshade, and the electric cords of this laptop: the extension, the AC adapter, the Internet extension cord, the cellphone charger. The smell of Spam fried and toasted to perfection. I still enjoy the company of my room, no matter how messy it is. This completely describes the way I live my life: the way I arrange my clothes in the closet (which is a complete turn-off for girls), the way I alphabetize books, the way I wax my hair. This is me.

High School forced me to do things I don’t want to do.

Host programs. Be an emcee for a Marian Youth Camp, which I consider the worst offer ever. Make a school paper layout. Join Glee Club. Sing religious songs at church. Illustrate Da Vinci’s works. List down the dynasties of China. Dissect a frog. Make a stupid garnishing for Culinary Artds. Teachers were the boss. I am a student. I, for one, am obliged to do these things. (50 Cent – In Da Club, woohoo.)

I just hate doing things which opposes my persona. It’s like, my identity’s lost.

Yesterday, I should be hosting the Marian Youth Camp. But then, I quit. I told myself not to fool myself by telling them how great Mary is. That she conceived Jesus without sin. That she willingly accept Angel Gabriel’s invitation to bear the Son of Man in the womb. If I could remember, the script goes like: Yes. Mother Mary truly serves as a servant for all of us, Christians.

I don’t want to do that. And besides, I didn’t attend since our maid forgot to iron my P.E Uniform – the prescribed costume for the Marian Youth Camp. The fear of disappointing Ms. Espejo (the teacher who hired me), and my partner (Ysabel) slowly diminished. I guess, I’m tired of doing things I don’t want to do.

Konting tiis. Malapit na naman ang graduation.

Tomorrow, I’d be Superman with a silly red sheet. I’d be going to a 6:30 AM mass, followed by an emergency meeting of our school paper at 8. At 11, my partner and I would be making our Investigatory Project finale about Muscovado Sugar – which is, making the products. And lastly, at 2 – would be our inter-class Belen Making contest.

Ipinagkait na naman sakin ang weekend.

Hay. Next Thursday would be our 3rd Periodic Test. Then, Christmas vacation!

  1. spam is really great. its smell drops me dead. yes, it’s you. and even if i whirl the world a thousand times you will still be you. kevin moses bautista. kevin. vinkz. utakGAGO. moses2231.

ngayon ko lang yata nakitang nagkaroon ng typo ang post mo. it really is the first time! after so many months!

so you quit. it was just yesterday that i was expecting you to be there on the venue. i was thinking of you as an emcee of such an occasion you DO NOT want to attend to nor be at.

i don’t have to blame you. you have the right to do what you want. likewise, you do not have to do stuffs you despise, that opposes your psyche.

    trepidations. blazen thingies.

have a nice day. and a busy weekend.

  2. “ipinagkait” haha, i like that word. hey at least you’re doing some productive things for the weekend! and i like this post, mga lines from songs.. nakakatuwa. ^_^ and spam and ketchup… all time favorite meal! hindi mawawala yan sa pantry namin, and dont forget vienna sausage too! yum!! =)

    hehe.
or maybe not.basta my reason kung bakit tayo nadedprive sa mga ganyang bagay.sure it sucks, and it will always effin’ suck, but who cares? magpasalamat na lang tayo at may mga bagay na pwede pa nating gawin.

  9. poor kid… ang bata mo pa stressed ka na! lighten up your workload, baka sumabog ang utak mo… buti na lang may spam, fave ko rin yan… witohout the heinz, i’m not fond of catsups kasi!

  10. Heinz is my catsup of preference. It used to be Del Monte Sweet blend, but not anymore.

Good thing you did something you werent forced to do. You finally had a say in all this high school stuff which is force fed to every teen.

Tama ka, konting tiis nalang. Believe me, college holds more freedom for you…

  11. You know, my room’s messy too. If you’d go and see it, you’d think a boy occupies the room.

Unting tiis na lang, graduate na tayo! Just three months left! And considering how fast time is, you’ll be grauating before you know it.

Kami sa Tuesday na ang test, and sa 15th na ang Christmas party. Wuhoo, Christmas break!

  12. ohh.. i miss Phils. hahaha. kasi naman.. i miss going home around 8 pm or 9 or 10 just for the stupid practices and stuff..

  14. elow po! ;) haha salamat sa pagcomment! :D okay lang yan. once in a lifetime lang ang high school.. better to enjoy it than to regret it dba?? :D Hehee. excited din me sa xmas break. :D kaso.. di ko na ’sya’ makikita until xmas break is over!! hahaaha.. joke lang.

  15. well, i agree. most of the time i think that teachers enjoy torturing their students with lotsa projects and homeworks. or there are certain others who are goody-goody but they actually get their revenge during exams. well, not all teachers are like that. haha.

di ka na nagpupunta sa blog ko ah. hmm…

good luck nalang sa mga exam. at oo nga, konteng tiis nalang, dude. ilang buwan nalang!

  16. nice.

yun lang ang nasa isip ko…

    hibang lang talaga.

  17. Haha. Pasalamat ka sa mga katulong mo na hindi nilabhan ang PE Uniform mo..for the fourth year.

  18. crap. a few minutes ago, my dad asked me to lead the rosary. I don’t even want to lead the rosary and yet I have to. i’m not even a religous person but they force me to be Christian-like. blah.

high school…i have a lot to say about it. but in some whacked way i hated it now.

good luck with your exams :) im having my finals, too, this week. good luck to us.

  19. im excited about the christmas break too. i need a break and relax from all the studying and numerous academic activities.. kaya mo yan bro.. gudluck

  20. waw buti pa kayo malapit na xmas vacation!! kami parang wala lang ehh! :( tagal2 pa…
ganyan din lagi ko sinasabi ehh.. ‘lapit nanaman graduation’, konting tiis nalang. heheheh

  21. be thankful for these experiences. I studied in a good school where most of the insecure clique-ish type brats ruled. Nah, just kidding. But then, I didn’t shine so much in high school then. College rocked, though. These things can help you get a job later on, and good stuff to say in those college admission interviews. Shows na may potential ka.

  22. i hate you!hahaha..nah..cant hate my pest friend u know!!tsk!bat mo ko iniwan sa ere?i end up emceeing the show with “the ex” tsk tsk..pestfriend!!!hehehe!!ULOL!üüüsadista ka talaga, mabantot ka din nung bata noh!

  23. thanks Dave. Oo nga, mas relevant ata ang blogging.

Mayel – sensya na talaga. I’m not really into ‘emceeing’ some sort of a Marian Youth Camp and devote myself to that activity.

Oh well. Nako, sana hindi mo sabihin kay Sir! WAHAHA!

  24. Sana nga, Layla. Well – medyo kabado ako dun sa mga interviews na yun ha.

Chris, well – parehas tayo. Pero matagal na akong hindi nag-lead ng rosary. Heheh!

  25. Your songs are so emo. Haha! A very typical emo song for an emo boy. LOL. Joke lang ha.
