Life is probably our mainstay – the one who holds our identity. It is the reason why we are living. We are very happy about our life, contented maybe, or even hoping for more. But what about its apparent opposite – death? Are you really willingful to accept the destiny that this world will give you? Are you ready to accept the factuality that you’ll die sooner or later?
Nobody could tell, but as much as possible, we should be ready about it. Remember that life and death are twins, you cannot live without dying, nor die without living. They are favored lovers – lovers that will never separate. Dying, as expressed by many people – is a mystery of our fate, a tranquil shadow behind our life, our nemesis, our ultimate phobia.
The difficult situations about death is that, the unfairness of life and death, life could be predicted, death is flickery, unpredictable and surprising. One thing that made death predictable is depression, of anger and of grievances – suicide. Commiting suicide is destroying the fate of your life – you may still have years to spend, but if you choose to die rather than living, then it is a living testimony of your fear of facing problems, being a wimp in your life.
Living is a pleasure, but how about death? Is death deserving to be boasted, to be proud of – or to be ashamed of. Whenever our lives have its deadline – its cessation, we feel depressed, we feel like there’s nothing you could do in this world. But ‘dying’ is not synonymous for being ‘useless’. You could maximize your life span by, not taking medicines or life-long treatments, but by making the most out of it.
Time is priceless, time is never to be wasted in such silly things and stupidity. We should spend it with our utmost decisions, spending it practically – choosing your essentials rather than your wants, our priorities first rather than other things that guarantees short-term happiness and satisfaction.
We should feel privileged that we are still young, or if not, still – we are living healthy and of contentment – not of shallow treasures and worldly things – but of simple pleasures in life. Be thankful that we lived this day, we are in this day. We should not take things for granted, and for our own sake – make things shine with its worth, make it valuable. Diamonds are formed by such intense heat and pressure. Real treasures in life can sometimes begin with shallow things, but will remain in our life constantly. Discover what our life is, what our purpose in this world is.
Life is an unsolved jigsaw puzzle, an obra maestra of God – his masterpiece and the continuous revolving of life is a enigmatic expression of another series of situation. Though we can’t really solve the full edition, solve it piece by piece – every skyscraper starts with its first foundation.

Enjoying life is not bad, but if enjoying life to the fullest without thinking other aspects of life maybe bad. Life can’t be described by a single thing or a single painting or any other paragraphs or literary works – it is complex, complicated in a sense that you can’t really delineate it, we can’t outline it. It may took forever – or a lifetime. It involves thousands of people we encounter, from our mother, our friends, our aging neighbor, or even that beggar we met outside at the train station, and even our pet dog, or our greatest mortal enemy.
Death is the darkest of all darks, the deepest trench in our life, greater than the Marianas’. It is the unfathomable abyss – the finish line of our race against the world, and the threshold of our journey, the horror – the shutting down of our life, like a computer. No words could completely describe death.
Another mystery that lingers in our mind, what will happen after we die? After we breathe our last breath, after our heart got tired of pumping and pumping pints of blood, after we closed our eyes. Some people experienced it, and they were yet fortunate enough to live again. They experienced the fifty-fifty chance, its either to live or die. Now that they experience it, they realized one thing, that life is short. Even if we lived for seventy-something years in this world, it seems like we still remember the first time we punched one of our classmates, or the first time we won a contest in drawing, or the times that we courted that gorgeous lady next to our seat.
Life is colorful, yet full of thrill. It is compared to a roller coaster with lots of hoops that made us scream, or a wheel that goes round and round. But still, comparisons are not enough. Death – as much as I see – have no comparison. I have never heard a famous quote about death – or maybe I just forgot it.
Still, it depends in our choice. We are the keyholder of our life, and still we handle our lives in full control. Life is not about feeling good. It is about being real.
